Marine Advisory: 01/2024

Subject: ICS CII Data Collection System

Dear Shipowners/Operators/Charterers/Masters:

The purpose of this Marine Advisory is to provide information on the International Chamber of Shipping (ICS) Carbon Intensity Index(CII) data collection system.

The ICS CII data collection system has been set up to support IMO's review of the CII rating system. It enables shipowners and ship managers to voluntarily submit a copy of their aggregate validated DCS and CII data, and unvalidated aggregate data. The additional unvalidated data, which has been agreed by IMO, will provide more details in relation to fuel consumption and transport work). To support the CII review it is important to collect the widest possible extent of data.

The Shipowners/Operators can upload the data via ICS online form once the confirmation of CII rating is received from the Administration. The system can be accessed via the https://www.ics-

shipping.org/supporting-shipping/ webpage of the ICS website. The data requested by ICS is similar to IMO DCS and SEEMP Part III data which is being submitted and verified on an annual basis.

This is a voluntary data collection facility, and all shipowners are encouraged to use this system where anonymous submissions can also be made.

If you have additional questions or concerns, please contact ICS directly at Chris.Waddington@icsshipping.org
