Marine Operations Note: 02/2015*

(*This Marine Operations Note supersedes Operations Note: 03/2010)

Subject: INCLUSION OF ADMINISTRATION ON VESSEL ADVANCE NOTICE OF ARRIVAL FOR U.S. PORTS

Dear Shipowners/Operators, and Masters,

This Marine Operations Note is reissued as a reminder of the requirement to notify the Administration 96 hours in advance of arrival of Liberian flagged vessels at ports in the U.S.

The Administration is not always receiving the required advance Notice of Arrival and two recent USCG detentions could have been avoided, if the Administrations had been aware in advance of the vessel’s scheduled of arrival.

The 96 hour advance notice of arrival shall be sent to email address: noa@liscr.com

To avoid the burden of duplicate reporting, Owners/Operators/Masters should include the email address: noa@liscr.com in the same 96 hour notice of arrival currently sent to the USCG, National Vessel Movement Center (NVMC), as detailed on its website: http://www.nvmc.uscg.gov/NVMC/default.aspx

If the 96-hour notification to USCG NVMC is made by Fax, the Administration’s facsimile number is +1 703 790 5655, Attn: NOA Officer.

Shipowners/Operators are reminded to inform the Masters of their Liberian flag vessels to implement this Operations Note through onboard reporting procedures.

For questions regarding this note, please contact this Administration’s Safety Department at telephone number +1 703 790 3434 or email: safety@liscr.com.
